The strengthening of ties between the Philippines and the two countries has long been considered
as diplomatic achievements of Imelda's and not of Pres. Marcos

Wielding vast powers, she launched the Kilusan Kabuhayan at Kaunlaran (KKK) livelihood program. 
She also continued providing the needy through short term livelihood loans.
